Card production
For card manufacturers and personalization service providers
Rinas offers modular systems for the efficient personalization of magnetic, RFID, and chip cards. Whether as an OEM module or a complete system, our technology covers all steps from encoding to quality control.
Suitable systems and modules for card production
Personalize, encode, and print ID-1 cards securely and reproducibly.
Accessories
Typical applications in card production
Rinas systems are used wherever cards need to be personalized, encoded, and checked – from large-scale industrial manufacturers to specialized service providers.
Examples of use:
- Customer and membership cards: for retail, fitness, or loyalty programs
- Access and ID cards: for companies, government agencies, schools, or hotels
- Payment and bank cards: secure encoding in accordance with ISO and EMV standards
- Public transportation and event tickets: Magnetic or RFID-based ticket production
- OEM integration: Installation of LWR and SWR modules in customer-specific systems
Rinas covers the entire process chain – from the blank card to data encoding to final inspection and logging.
Thanks to its modular design, production lines can be flexibly adapted – ideal for changing formats, quantities, and card types.
Technical solutions
for card production
Our OEM modules LWR and SWR are frequently integrated by machine builders.
A typical system consists of a card separator, a personalization module (LWR/SWR/SRM), and a stacker.
For variable data, the DOD printer or a thermal transfer printing module is usually used—optionally supplemented by laser marking.
Card types and materials
Our systems process:
- Magnetic, chip, and RFID cards
- ID-1 cards, paper tickets, and RFID tickets
- Materials such as plastic, bio-PVC, wood, or biodegradable cards
- Metal cards are also possible
Magnetic encoding is the fastest; RFID and chips involve more complex data structuring and optional encryption.
Production steps with Rinas systems
Rinas covers all steps of card personalization:
- Data transfer (CSV, database)
- Separation and transport
- Coding (magnetic, RFID, chip)
- Printing and laser marking
- Verification (read check, camera, OCR)
- Sorting and stacking
- Logging and quality control
Integration & Interfaces

Benefits for card manufacturers
- Compact design: less space required compared to competitors
- Industrial quality: durable metal parts instead of plastic
- Flexible modularity: scalable systems and software customization
- Sustainability: repairable modules, low power consumption
- Everything from a single source: development, assembly, software, support
- Think Green concept: replacement of wear parts only
Quality & Safety
Rinas systems check every coding step inline:
- Checking and comparing data
- Optical reading and comparison using a camera
- Data conformity testing in accordance with ISO standards
- EMC-compliant electronics
Sustainability & Service
Rinas systems are designed for durability. Modules can be maintained and repaired for many years—we manufacture some of the replacement parts ourselves.
Services:
- Remote support (if permitted)
- Training during installation or online
- Support with maintenance and servicing

Frequently asked questions about card production with Rinas
Rinas primarily uses the following systems for card production: CS-LWR, CS-SWR, CS-Laser, CS-DOD and RFE.
Depending on the application, OEM modules such as LWR, SWR, HWR, or SRM can be integrated.
The systems reliably encode magnetic, RFID, and chip cards and can be individually combined.
Rinas systems support all common card types: magnetic cards, wooden cards, RFID cards, chip cards, paper tickets, and bioplastic cards.
Metal cards can also be processed.
Rinas thus covers the entire range of requirements, from ID-1 formats to special applications in the retail or access control sector.
Quality assurance is carried out inline during production.
After encoding, each card is checked by means of a read test or camera scan.
Deviations are automatically detected and sorted out. All processes comply with ISO standards and are EMC-compliant.
Yes. Rinas OEM modules feature open interfaces, documented inputs and outputs, and flexible software connections.
Many machine builders use LWR or SWR modules for integration into their own production systems.
Upon request, Rinas also provides support with implementation and software customization.
Rinas is committed to a think green concept: durable, repairable modules instead of disposable systems.
Only wear parts are replaced, and spare parts are available for many years.
Thanks to energy-efficient components and modular design, Rinas systems are both resource-efficient and economical.
